So I’d like to take a moment to thank you guys for nearly 100 followers! And to take a moment to ask…
What are some of your favorite European-based foods? What country’s cuisine do you like best?
edit: I just want to say I love you guys for loving Scandinavian foods and those being on top right now. I’m more of an Estonian cuisine person, but the same type of flavors definitely float around and I’m familiar with them, so this makes it easy to find things :D -Anders
Do you know if Russian fried cheese is anything like halloumi?
Well… vaguely! However, the Russian fried cheese that has been posted—syrniki—is different in that it isn’t a type of cheese nor is it purely cheese. It’s similar to a potato pancake, only the potato replaced with the cheese, as well as containing egg, flour, sometimes sugar and other ingredients. I’m unfamiliar with what kind of milk quark (the cheese in syrniki) is normally made with, so… it’s more of just in concept, it’s somewhat similar.
